Plants were put into the ground in Feb ’23; both were from 10” pots. Soil was mixed with amendments prior to planting.

Location: A residence in Woodside, Ca.

Results:

The plants received identical water, sun exposure, etc. Measured on 31 Aug ’23. The treated plants were taller, wider, and the seed heads much larger than untreated plants.

Treated plants                                                                               Untreated plants

Height 65cm                                                                                   Height 50cm

Width 106cm                                                                                   Width 68cm

Volume  730,340 cm*3      = 3.1x  more                                     Volume  235,824 cm*3

# seeds/seed head 126+150=276= 3.37 times larger             # seeds/seed 40+42=82

Weight/seed heads 1.25g= 4.03 times larger                        Weight/seed  0.31g

Mexican Lavender

Follow-up of Field Trial 6

Plant type:

Mexican Lavender

Summary and update per April 2025

In spring 2023, we purchased Lavender plants from a local kid who germinated it (he called it “Mexican Lavender”, we are not sure of the subspecies), and planted it in our yard. One of the plants received our soil amendments; others did not.  In 2023,  the plants treated with the SAI soil amendments grew taller and wider, and the blossoms were bigger and heavier. In spring of 2025, we took measurements again; this section reports the 2025 results.

Location: A residence in Woodside, Ca.

Results:

Photo up to the left is the: “control” plant in Apr 2025

Dimensions/ Plant Volume:

62cm x 78cm x 90cm = 435kcm3

Photo up to the right: SAI treated plant in 2025:

Dimensions/Plant Volume: 88cm x 160cm x 180cm = 2,534kcm3

The control plant has a seed head volume of 1.6cm3 while the SAI treated plant has a seed head volume of 7cm3. (See image below.) The SAI treated plants produced seed heads which, on average, are 4.4x larger, and weigh 3.3x more, than seed heads produced by the control plants.

Overall, the SAI treated plant has a plant volume 5.8x largerthan the plant volume of the control plant.
